Well actually it was supposed to be the future of Start-up financing, but the StartupX Aktiengesellschaft in Zurich, Switzerland officially ceased operations in 2005. I was one of the co-founders, cto and actually the lead-developer for the original code-base which was written in php for the front-end and some c++-based backend-jobs ran asynchronously in the background.

Basically the company allowed and made it legally possible to invest small amounts into pre-ipo companies on the one hand, and provided additional services like head-hunting, knowledge-transfer, office-setups etc to the companies on the other hand. The company had its roots in our own previous start-up experiences and we basically created what we had wished for during earlier ventures. What we did, was to create one common ground where entrepreneurs could exchange information and have a resourceful site so they could spend more time on their actual products / core competencies.
